This information relates to the main Lincolnshire tree - descendants of Johannis [John] and Elizabeth Pask née Archer, who lived in Lincolnshire.

Very special wishes to Ken Pask who this weekend will be celebrating his 90th birthday with his family. Ken is Stuart's cousin. He was born in Alfreton, Derbyshire, England, the son of Arthur Edward & Rachel Pask née Sanders.

He joined the RAF in December 1940, was awarded his pilot wings in January 1942, and was posted to Kilbride for test pilot training. In August 1943 he was posted to India, joined 155 (F) Squadron in Burma, South East Asia Command. In May 1945 he moved to 226 Group, Delhi, and on to Risalpur and Karachi on test pilot duties until returning to Britain in June 1946. After the war, Ken returned to university and graduated in 1947. He joined Pfizer Canada Inc. and retired in 1987 as Regional Manager, Western Canada.

Kenneth married Alma Yvonne Laughton, daughter of Francis Thomas Abraham & Amelia Laughton née Langford, on 23 August 1947 at Christ Church, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire. Sadly his wife, Alma, died on 29 June 2009, at the age of 85, after 62 years of marriage.

Descendants of Montague Wilfred & Emily Annie Hardy née Hyland

This information relates to Chart 6 - Unknown Pask who lived in Kedington, Suffolk.

In May, Joanne Bush née Torrens, from Canada, contacted us about her great-grandmother Frances Pask who was born in 1857 in Kedington, Suffolk. Frances married Henry Hardy on 25 December 1875 in Kedington. They had ten children, including Joanne's grandfather Montague Wilfred Hardy.

Montague married Emily Annie Hyland in 1911 in Chelmsford registration district. Shortly afterwards they immigrated to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. They sailed on the "Royal George" that departed from Avonmouth on 22 March 1911, and arrived in Halifax, on 28 March 1911.

Joanne has provided information on their 6 children, and their descendants. This will be included in the next website update.

Many thanks to Joanne for providing this information.

Arthur William & Phoebe Giles née Pask

This information relates to the red-icon tree - descendants of Isaac PASK who lived in Llanvihangel-ystern-Llewern, Monmouthshire.

Janet Loucks née Giles wrote to me in July, and explained:

My grandmother (Phoebe) married Arthur William Giles in Newport in 1897. They had one son, Arthur Richard Vincent Giles who was born 1902 in Newport. Phoebe and A.R. Vincent Giles emigrated to Prince George, BC Canada in 1919 after the death of Arthur William Giles. A.R.Vincent Giles married and had 3 children.

Phoebe was the daughter of Zachariah & Phoebe Paske née Jenkins. She was the 3 x great-granddaughter of the main progenitor in Monmouthshire, Isaac Pask.

I searched the passenger lists on http://www.findmypast.com/ for Phoebe's and Arthur's passage to Canada, but unfortunately could not locate them.

In the process of updating Phoebe's information, I also found her sister Mary married Alfred Gain, or Gaine in 1877, and they had two children Elizabeth Ann, and John Alfred.

This information will be available in the next website update. Many thanks to Janet for providing this information.

Descendants of Bernard & Helen Pask née Wallace

This information relates to Chart 34, the descendants of Philip & Pheobe Pask née Lewis who lived in Bryngwyn, Monmouthshire.

Milton Pask wrote to us from Sundre, Alberta, Canada. His grandfather was Bernard W. Pask who was born in 1885 in Walthamstow, Essex. However, Bernard's ancestors originated from Monmouthshire.

Bernard immigrated to Canada in 1905 on the ship Dominion. He married Helen Wallace in 1920 and they had five children.

Helen was born in 1891 in the village of Mauchlin, Ayrshire, Scotland. She was the youngest daughter of William Wallace and Helen Shaw Taylor. Her father died in 1915 and she decided to go to Canada.

Milton has kindly provided valuable information of all Bernard & Helen's five children, and their children, with their most up-to-date families.

This information will be included in the next website update.

John & Elizabeth Pask née White continued

This information relates to a Gloucestershire family, currently unconnected to a main branch.

As detailed in the previous blog John & Elizabeth Pask née White - Gloucestershire, Bob Shewman wrote from Ontario Canada regarding this family that originated from Cheltenham.

The information provided by Bob has now been included in the database, and includes that John Pask was born in 1834 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. He was a Bootmaker. He married Elizabeth White, daughter of Thomas Cotton and Priscilla White, on 4 July 1868 in Bretforton, Worcestershire. His father was listed as Philip Pask, a Farmer. However currently I am unable to find Philip.

John & Elizabeth, and their four children Harry George, Tom [or Samuel], Mary, and infant Elizabeth May immigrated to Canada in c1882. John died shortly afterwards when he was killed by a railway train on 27 June 1883 in Trenton, Hastings County, Ontario. Elizabeth then married James Meacham on 16 October 1883.

Bob has also provided extensive information on their four children. This information will be available on the website in the next update.

John & Elizabeth Pask née White - Gloucestershire

This information relates to a currently unidentified main branch of the family with roots in Gloucestershire.

Bob Shewman wrote from Ontario, Canada. He is researching a Pask connection to his Carley family. Bob has provided extensive information on John & Elizabeth Pask née White who lived in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. John was a Shoemaker, and was born in Cheltenham c1834.

Bob writes:

According to the 1868 marriage record of John Pask (GRO Sep 1868 Evesham Vol. 6c Pg 407 No. 115) his father’s name is Philip Pask, a farmer. They married on July 4, 1868.

I have searched the database, and cannot currently locate any additional information on Philip Pask, or John Pask.

Bob details in his extensive information on John & Elizabeth, and their descendants, that they immigrated to Canada in 1882. Shortly afterwards John was killed by a railway train on June 27, 1883. Elizabeth then married James Meacham on October 16, 1883.

Bob's information will be included in the database in the near future.
