Moulds Family of Old Somerby, Lincolnshire

Recent website updates have been mainly focused on the descendants of William MOULDS, (c1710-1774), Stuart's 5th great-grandfather, who lived in Little Ponton, Lincolnshire.

Stuart's 4th great-uncle, married Mary Sharman on 15 May 1813 in St. Mary Magdalene's Church, Somerby. They subsequently had eight children, seven of which were baptised in St. Mary Magdalene's Church in Somerby.

Stuart had previously visited the churchyard on 17 June 2009, and was accompanied by numerous chickens. See the photograph album at https://goo.gl/photos/7KuyU2qX3fBmGHtX9

A couple of weeks ago, we decided to visit the church again. We had an extremely enjoyable visit. Fortunately, the church was open and we were able to see the outstanding features, which date back to 1140. See the photograph album at http://photos.app.goo.gl/YDJtegf4RfFU41j27

Inside the church was a visitors book, and when scrolling through the pages we noticed that there was a yearly family gathering of the Moulds family. Several had included their names, one in particular, Barbara, had included her email address. Subsequently, during the following week we exchanged emails and have considerably expanded the information on the UK Moulds descendants. Barbara is Stuart's fifth cousin, and extremely interested in family history - so do look on the website, and find the people who lived in Somerby (near Grantham), Lincolnshire.

William Partington Pask (1853-1939)

William Partington Pask was born in 1853 in Great Crosby, Lancashire, England. He was the son of Thomas and Sarah Pask née Partington.

After the death of his parents, William lived with his step-parents in Liverpool, Lancashire, England. When he was 11 years old, he had an argument with his step-parents which resulted in him signing up on a ship travelling to Australia as a cabin boy.

William married Margaret Rosina Webster Stewart c1878 in Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia. They went on to have ten children. Eight of them are included in this photograph, taken in 1899. For more details see http://pask.org.uk/Pask-p/e2834.htm.

Recently, we have been in touch with Patricia Murphy, the granddaughter of William and Mary's daughter Agnes Kinsey née Pask. Patricia has kindly provided the above family photograph, together with extensive information on Agnes, and her siblings, and their descendants. This information has been included in the website update on 12 April 2020.

Sincere thanks to Patricia for her wealth of information, and numerous photographs from her Stewart Family Tree available on Ancestry.

George Pask (1940-2019)

We have been advised, by his son Carl, that sadly George Pask of Styrrup, Nottinghamshire has died at the age of 79.

He died very suddenly, and unexpectedly, at Bassetlaw Hospital, on 28th December 2019.

His funeral will be held on 21st January 2020, at 11:00am at the Barnby Moor Memorial Park & Crematorium, Randby Retford, Nottinghamshire. Refreshments will follow afterwards at the Styrrup Golf Club.

George was the son of George Frederick & Ivy Pask née Layne. They both died in the early 1970s in the Worksop registration district. The family are descendants of the Lincolnshire Main Progenitor, John Pask (c1520-1591).

Heartfelt sympathies to George's wife Angela, and his sons Carl, and Simon.

Carl joined the Pask Family History Facebook Group in 2016.
