As detailed in the previous blog Family Chart 11 - Descendants of John Pask from Gautby Lincolnshire on 10 March, we were fortunate to recruit a male to do a Y-DNA
test.
The results were received this morning, and are worth their weight in gold! It established that John Pask (c1745-1793) is linked to the main PASK Lincolnshire progenitor.
John is the progenitor of Chart 11: John PASK, (c1745-1793) married Elizabeth FOUNTAIN and they lived in Gautby, Lincolnshire #7697. His 521 descendants will now be assigned to Chart 01.
Thoroughout March, and early April, we have been reviewing the 523 people assigned to Chart 11, trying to find a possible link. Fortunately the DNA result has now given us which family to focus on, as Chart 01 families originated in Washington in the late 1500s, and then Wellingore in the early 1700s, spreading throughout Lincolnshire in the mid 1700s.
A superb result - sincere thanks to the Y-DNA Tester. Our findings will be included in the next website update.
If you are interested in doing a DNA test - there are now tests available for males and females. Do get in touch.

Family Chart 11 - Descendants of John Pask from Gautby Lincolnshire
A couple of weeks ago, we were fortunate to recruit a male to do a Y-DNA test. The results will hopefully help considerably in establishing whether John Pask (c1745-1793) is linked to other PASKs from Lincolnshire.
John is the progenitor of Chart 11: John PASK, (c1745-1793) married Elizabeth FOUNTAIN and they lived in Gautby, Lincolnshire #7697.
At the last website update, there were 523 people assigned to Chart 11. The majority of the narratives were last updated in 2006. So we decided to review this family, and include the latest information, now readily available on the internet. This includes, baptism, marriage, and burial transcripts and images from the parish registers. Also the new GRO online index, which now has the mother's maiden name for indexes between 1837 and 1911 - a significant 'new' resource. Also The 1939 Register, a superb resource that was like a ‘census’ and taken on 29 September 1939 just after the
outbreak of war. It was then used to issue identify cards, and subsequently
ration cards.
So far, we have found an additional 41 descendants, and have only touched the surface of Chart 11. We will continue to work on this family whilst we wait for the DNA results - this normally takes 4-6 weeks from receipt at the laboratory in Texas, USA. So watch this space.
In the meantime, if you have any additional information on Chart 11, don't hesitate to contact us at pask@one-name.org.

William Henry Rossington
Chart 11: John Pask, (c1745-1793) who married Elizabeth Fountain and they lived in Gautby, Lincolnshire.
Yesterday, we received an usual request from Christopher Woodcock. He is the Tower Captain, and Bell Ringer, from St. Oswald's church in Blankney, Lincolnshire.
He is searching for information on William Henry Rossington, the younger son of Henry & Hannah Rossington née Pask.
Christopher writes:
I am in the process of researching William Henry Rossington who was a bell ringer at St Oswald’s Blankney and who was killed on 15th April 1918 aged 21 in the Great War.It is our intention to hold a service of remembrance at St Oswald’s Blankney (organised by the local Bell Ringers) to commemorate the centenary of the death of William Henry Rossington. We also intend to ring a half muffled peal lasting 3 hours on the bells at Blankney in memory of him and all being well to visit the Ploegstreet Memorial which he is commemorated on to lay a wreath on behalf of the Bell Ringers and to ring hand bells their. The date for all this is still to be decided and set but it will be around 15th April 2018.
We hope to get as much background information and history on William Rossington so that we can tell his story. We would also like to try and find a photograph of him which could then be framed and put up in the bell tower at Blankney as a permanent memorial to him there.
We would also like to try and invite family relatives of William Henry Rossington to attend the Memorial service in 2018.
If anyone can help with more information on William, please do contact Christopher, or ourselves. It would be great to honour William in such a way.

Edward & Eliza Pask née Bradshaw - Photographs
This information relates to Chart 11, a currently unidentified main branch of the family with roots in Lincolnshire.Over the past two days I have been including photographs kindly provided some time ago by Fred L. Taylor. These mainly relate to the family of Edward & Eliza Pask née Bradshaw, who originated from Timberland, and lived in Bardney. The photographs included in the blog are Fred's grandparents Edward Pask, and Fanny Maria Pask née Ardron.
It was the intention to include all the photographs in an online album when time permits. Unfortunately I am technically challenged and need more time to set this up. In the meantime, the photographs are now included in the sources, and as primary images against the individual narratives. These will be available in the next website update.
