This information relates to Chart 6 - Peter & Catherine Pask née Frost, born 1739 in Kedington, Suffolk.
One of the certificates mentioned in the blog yesterday was the birth certificate of Henry Frederick William Pask, the son of Henry & Mary Pask née Shaw. He was born on 29 January 1885.
This family is being researched by Pat Taylor in Australia. I wrote to her and received an immediate response. Pat knew that Henry & Mary had 14 children, although only 7 survived to maturity. However previously only 8 children had been identified. Unfortunately Henry Frederick William Pask was one of those who did not survive to maturity. He died at the age of 5.
Pat has also been able to find another son - Henry Clarence Pask, who was born on 10 December 1904. This meant that they had three sons called Henry. Pat writes:
Pat has kindly provided the birth certificate for this third Henry."... as often happened in those days, my grandparents thought my dad wasn’t going to make it into adulthood and when my uncle was born they went ahead and named him Henry, hedging their bets just in case, but when my dad survived against all odds, as he was a sickly child with bronchitis, they just dropped the Henry and Clarence became my uncle’s name for the duration".
