England & Wales, National Probate Calendar (Index of Wills and Administrations),1861-1941

This week Ancestry announced the availability of an index of wills and adminstrations.

England & Wales, National Probate Calendar (Index of Wills and Administrations),1861-1941

Whilst the collection covers 80 years from 1861 to 1941, there are some gaps for the years 1863, 1868, 1873, 1876, 1877, 1883, 1888, 1899-1903 and 1910-1911.The records were created by the Probate Registry, that was established in London in January 1858, and several district probate registries were created around the country.

We searched these indexes for Pask, Paske, and Pasque, and found the following information:

  • 170 PASKs
  • 53 PASKEs
  • No PASQUEs, or PARSKs.
The Calendar is separated into a different volume for each year. The entries in each volume are in alphabetical order by surname. Information varies across different entries, but typically includes:
  • Probate date
  • Full name of the deceased
  • Death date
  • Death place
  • Registry where issued
Previously we have transcribed the probate indexes up to 1900.However only a small number of entries have been included into the database. In the future we will include the remaining entries.

In the meantime, if you would like a specific entry, please do not hesitate to contact us.
